This dashboard shows how a Bun application built with ElysiaJS handles traffic and how the Bun runtime behaves under that load. It covers request rate, latency, errors, and runtime health in one view.

What This Dashboard Monitors
This dashboard covers four areas of your Bun service:
- Traffic: Request rate by method, status code, and route.
- Latency: P50, P95, and P99 request duration, overall and by route.
- Errors: The share of requests with a 5xx status, and the routes that cause them.
- Runtime health: Event loop delay, CPU use, and heap memory.
Metrics Included
Overview
- Request Rate: Average HTTP requests per second.
- Error Rate: Share of requests that returned a 5xx status.
- P95 Latency: 95th percentile request duration.
- Heap Used: Current heap memory in use.
Traffic
- Request Rate by Method: Requests per second for each HTTP method.
- Requests by Status Code: Requests per second, stacked by status code.
- Request Rate by Route: Requests per second for each matched route.
- Routes: Request count, P95 latency, and average latency for each route.
Latency
- Latency Percentiles: P50, P95, and P99 request duration.
- P95 Latency by Route: 95th percentile request duration for each route.
Errors
- 5xx Responses: Server errors per second, by status code.
- Error Percentage: Share of requests that returned a 5xx status, over time.
- 4xx Responses: Client errors per second, by status code.
- Errors by Route: Error spans per second for each route.
Runtime
- Event Loop Delay: P50, P90, and P99 event loop delay.
- Process CPU Utilization: CPU used by the process, split by user and system time.
- Heap Used: Heap memory in use over time.
Dashboard Variables
This dashboard includes these variables for filtering:
- Service (
service.name): The Bun service to inspect. - Environment (
deployment.environment.name): The deployment environment. Set it withOTEL_RESOURCE_ATTRIBUTESas shown in the setup guide. - Route (
http.route): The Elysia route pattern. This variable applies to the panels that read from traces.
Where the Data Comes From
The dashboard reads from both metrics and traces.
| Panels | Signal | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Request rate, status codes, errors | Metrics | http.server.request.duration from the Elysia OpenTelemetry plugin |
| Routes, latency, errors by route | Traces | Request spans from the Elysia OpenTelemetry plugin |
| Event loop delay, CPU, heap | Metrics | Runtime and host metrics instrumentation |
Next Steps
- Set up alerts on error rate or P95 latency for your Bun service.
- Explore your traces to find the cause of a slow or failing route.
- Create and customize dashboards to add panels that fit your service.
